When we initially saw these people start skating on this lake in Sweden, we didn't think much of it. When they looked down, however, we lost it!
This breathtaking footage was shot at Lake Blanktjärn near Östersund in Jämtland (Sweden). Though the water on the surface may look clear and fragile, the ice is actually four inches thick.
When TheWeatherNetwork.com asked one of the men in this video, Jonas Landmark, what made the lake so unique, he explained, "the lake is unique because of its turquoise color formed by a chemical reaction, with completely transparent ice."
Landmark continued, "It's pretty deep -- 10-15 feet -- and the big fish that appear in the film are probably at 10 meters depth. It was [like] being at an aquarium." An aquarium you can ice skate on? That sounds pretty awesome if you ask me!
Like we mentioned previously, we can't get enough of this footage, but how did you feel about it. Please share your thoughts and feelings with us in the comment section below.
