Yoga is both a spiritual and physical exercise that has a number of benefits for the body and the mind. The true origins of yoga are hard to pinpoint, but according to Yoga Basics, the earliest signs of the practice date back some 5,000 years - though some researchers argue that it could go back 10,000 years. Loosely defined, yoga is a spiritual and ascetic discipline that aims to improve health and promote relaxation, so we're not surprised to learn that it's been going on for thousands of years. Throughout history, societies and civilizations have sought to prolong and improve life in any way possible, and yoga seems to have been one of the most common practices.
Yoga isn't only for the most flexible of individuals. There are poses and stances that anyone can begin with before working their way up to the more difficult ones. In the video below, a woman tries her hand at a seemingly tough pose, in which she attempts to put her leg behind her head. It's certainly no easy task, but that doesn't stop her dog from giving it a shot. Lo and behold, the dog has more success than its owner and it's pretty remarkable to see. Who would've thought?
I was pretty impressed by this clip, and I have to ask: do you think your dog could do this? What tricks or traits do your pets have that make them unique? Sound off in the comments section below and if you were impressed by the video, be sure to share it with your family and friends!
