There's nothing that warms our hearts more than local stories of kindness. This week, a photo of a Kansas City, Missouri police officer sitting on the side of the road with a pair of lost dogs went viral and we totally understand why. While most people would've driven past these pups without so much as a second glance, this cop parked his motorcycle on the side of the road and waited in the cold grass until the Humane Society came to retrieve the animals. During that time, he petted and comforted the wayward pooches, who'd escaped from their owners' yard.
When passerby Debbie Davis saw this happening, she posted a photo of the incident to her Facebook page and it went immediately viral. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending, as the dogs' owners retrieved them at the Kansas City Animal Shelter and expressed their gratitude about the police officer's random act of kindness. However, despite his celebrated good deed, the cop did not want to be interviewed, insinuating that it's merely his job to serve and protect all Kansas City citizens, including the four-legged ones.
