The wilderness can be a rough place, even if you're a wild animal. A five-month-old bear cub was left abandoned by its mother on the shore of the Nolichucky River in the United States. Once members of he park service realized the bear was in trouble, they jumped into action in order to help out.

Rescuers sent a raft near by, but the baby bear was too scared to approach. The rescuers were patient, and spent several days waiting for the bear to grow comfortable. after a few days the baby bear became comfortable enough to hop on. The bear is currently being treated for malnutrition.
